Day Nine

Wednesday, June 18, 2003

Today we continued work on the District Center, Superintendent Home.  Several worked on the garage removing dirt, leveling the ground to lay the cement floor during much rain. One struck the water line and now will be repaired tomorrow. However, we were still able to lay the cement just over ˝ of the floor.  We finished the forms on the 2nd floor for the roof line. This may sound simple, but we carry bucket after bucket in a relay team with a pulley rope to the 2nd floor relay team.  Dean & Jessy with the help of Julius & Ron has mixed 25; 60 pound cement bags in the last 3 days.  Nancy, Pastor Ripp & Dawn dug out the area for the retaining wall we were hoping to build today.  The rains have kept us from more labor.  However, we have accomplished at least a months of work for the Brazilian workers in these few days.  We give glory to God. Though we work hard, we do take breaks and today it was a massage break day.  Joy got the short end of the deal.  Joy posing for her picture and Dale enjoying doing physical labor rather than being behind the camera.

Cindy: “The work is hard, but the fellowship is priceless”.

Dean:  “I never thought I would pay so much to work so hard, but it is all for Jesus”

Simone, daughter of Missionary, Alfredo Mulieri:  “My thoughts about the team; I have been working with Work & Witness teams for 4 years, and this is the first one that has been willing to learn the language and about the country. It has not only been fun, but a learning experience.  I thank God for bringing these people to my nation and making me realize what W&W is all about.”

Rute, wife of Alfredo: “We are having full days of a lot of work and we feel the effects in our body, but at the same time we feel edified in our spirit.  I am happy for this time that the Lord has prepared. I give glory to God.  I thank you Bonney Lake Church for all your effort and love towards the Porto Alegre District.”
